Bumpboxx Teams Up with the Houston Alexander Foundation to Celebrate Youth & Hip Hop

OMAHA, NE (June 19, 2018) – This week, Bumpboxx, the biggest, baddest, and loudest Bluetooth boombox in the world, becomes the Houston Alexander Foundation’s (HAF) first corporate partner to support youth and hip hop education in Nebraska.

Since the beginning of the year, HAF has been featuring Bumpboxx at Culture Shock School Tours and summer programs at K-12 schools and colleges throughout the greater Omaha area. These fun “old school” boomboxes inspire young students to breakdance and beatbox with their fellow classmates and learn about the origins of hip hop and urban culture.

“We’re beyond the moon to have Bumpboxx as our first corporate partner,” said Houston Alexander, HAF Board Chair and President. “Supporting our kids – supporting hip hop culture!”

The Culture Shock School Tour, created by Houston Alexander, former UFC competitor, continues to grow under HAF. Since 2003, Houston has collaborated with principals, teachers, and volunteers to teach the history of hip hop through music, dance, and art to over 450 K-12 schools and colleges throughout Nebraska.

Houston Alexander Foundation Celebrates One Year to Improve Youth Opportunities in Omaha

OMAHA, NE (February 15, 2018) - The Houston Alexander Foundation (HAF) today celebrates the first year of its formation. Dedicated to providing opportunities to young people in Omaha, HAF is excited to ramp up its programs to improve our communities.

“Creating the non-profit has been a long time coming,” said Houston Alexander, HAF Board Chair and President. “We are working to change communities one person at a time. If you care for kids – kids will care!”

HAF’s premier program is the Culture Shock School Tour, which Mr. Alexander has hosted since 2003. In partnership with principals, teachers, and volunteers, Houston has visited over 450 K-12 schools and colleges throughout Nebraska, teaching the history of hip-hop through music, art, and dance. In its first official year, HAF hosted seven school tours, averaging 600 students per school. These lucky 4,300 participants included students from Lewis & Clark Elementary, Dundee Elementary, University of Nebraska Omaha, Twin Ridge Elementary, Nathan Hale Magnet Middle School, Mount View Elementary, and Fontenelle Elementary.

Future programs include after-school programs and seminars focused on Mr. Alexander’s passions: hip hop (DJ’ing, breakdancing, street art painting), MMA, and leadership.

HAF received its incorporation status from the State of Nebraska on February 15, 2017. Shortly thereafter, the organization was granted 501(c)(3) tax-exemption status from the Internal Revenue Service on April 12, 2017.
